How to play
One small installer. The launcher takes care of the game download, updates, and repair.
Install the launcher
Download aion-kir-setup.msi, double-click it, and follow the Windows Installer steps. It installs Aion Kir for your Windows account and creates Start menu and desktop shortcuts.
If you used the previous EXE installer, first close Aion and uninstall the old Aion Kir launcher from Windows Settings → Apps. Your downloaded game files are kept. Then run the MSI.
Download the game
Open Aion Kir from your desktop or Start menu. If the launcher offers Update launcher, complete that first. Then click Install Aion Kir.
The launcher downloads the client and connection patch. Keep it open until the download and verification finish. If interrupted, reopen it and retry; completed, verified files are reused.
Enter Atreia
When the button says Play Aion, click it. The launcher checks the game files again before opening Aion. This can take several minutes.
Log in inside Aion with a new username and password to create your account. Use the same details for future logins. Account creation happens in the game.

Keep your launcher and game updated
The MSI launcher checks for a newer launcher on startup and before checking game updates. Choose Update launcher when offered. It downloads and verifies the installer, closes for installation, and reopens afterward. Your game files stay in place.
Game updates happen inside the launcher. Missing or changed files are downloaded before Play. Existing EXE installations need the one-time MSI installation above to gain launcher self-updates.
Need a hand?
If the game does not open
- Verification is taking a long time
- The full client is checked before Play. If the filename or counter keeps advancing, let verification finish.
- An error appears after Play
- Take a screenshot of the launcher showing the complete error and exit code. Try Retry Play. Share the screenshot if it still fails.
- Files are missing or damaged
- Close Aion and select Repair in the launcher. Wait until it finishes, then click Play Aion.
- A launcher update fails
- Reopen the launcher and retry. You can also download and run the current MSI again. Installation logs are saved under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Aion Kir\launcher-updates. - Another launcher or game session is running
- Close the other launcher and Aion before retrying. Keep one launcher open during gameplay.
